Privacy Policy
Effective 28 October 2026
ARASH Majlish is made by Muhammad Sharif Ul Arafin, trading as ARASH Digital ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
In short
- ARASH Majlish works fully offline. It has no internet connection of its own and never sends anything to us or to anyone else.
- We do not collect, receive, sell or share any of your data. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
- Everything the app creates stays on your device, in storage only the app can read, until you delete it.
What the app keeps on your device
To do its job, the app stores the following on your device only:
- Recordings of meetings you record or import, if you keep audio (you can turn this off in Settings).
- Transcripts, translations, summaries, notes and action items made from those recordings, and anything you type into them.
- Speaker names and voice profiles. When voice memory is on, the app keeps a numeric voice profile for each speaker you name, so it can suggest their name in later meetings. A voice profile is a list of numbers, not a recording. You can turn voice memory off in Settings, or stop remembering one person's voice on their page under People.
- Your dialect master terms, templates and settings.
The meetings database is encrypted (AES-256, SQLCipher), with its key normally kept in the device's secure keychain. On iPhone, recordings and exports are protected by the device passcode and are kept out of iCloud and computer backups. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Permissions the app asks for
Each permission is optional and used only on the device:
- Microphone: to record and translate your meetings.
- Face ID or passcode: to lock the app if you turn on the app lock. iOS checks your face or passcode; the app only learns whether it succeeded and never sees any face data.
- Calendars: if you turn it on, to name recordings after your meetings, show who was invited, and remind you before a meeting. Your calendar is read on the device and never copied anywhere.
- Reminders: only when you ask the app to add action items to the Reminders app.
- Notifications: for meeting reminders you turn on. They are scheduled on the device.
- Siri and Shortcuts: so you can say "start Majlish". Siri requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
When information leaves your device
Only when you choose to send it:
- Exports and sharing. When you export or share a meeting (PDF, Word, text, subtitles or a checklist) or a voice note, the file goes where you send it, for example Mail, Files or another app. From then on, that app's or service's privacy terms apply.
- Reminders and Calendar. Action items you send to Reminders become part of Apple's Reminders app, which may sync them through your iCloud account.
- Copying text. On iPhone, text you copy from the app stays on that device (it is not shared with your other devices) and clears itself after two minutes.
Other people in your meetings
Recordings capture the voices of everyone present. Please tell participants, and get their consent where the law requires it, before you record.
Children
ARASH Majlish is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
You control your data on the device: delete any meeting (with its recording and transcript) or note in the app, stop remembering a person's voice, turn off audio keeping or voice memory in Settings, or delete the app to remove everything. Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will come with an app update, with a new effective date at the top.
